Luca Haines

Luca remains on our Elite team for the second year in a row after spending his first 2 years with us on our Development team in 2015 and 2016. Following in the footsteps of his cousins, Luca began racing when he was just 11 years old, splitting his time between soccer and cycling. He switched to cycling full-time at the age of 13 and has grown to love cyclocross above all else. With his small frame, he excels on short, punchy climbs and technical courses, placing 2nd at the 2017 New England Regional Championships in Fitchburg, MA, despite breaking his arm earlier in the season and being forced to race with a short cast. Luca is currently a sophomore at Oyster River High School in Durham, NH, where he enjoys courses in the social sciences as well as digital video production and photography. He heads to Budapest, Hungary for the beginning of the 2018 season where he’ll train and race in preparation for the fall cyclocross season. We’re excited to help Luca push himself towards the top of the Vittoria New England Cyclocross Series when he returns to the United States.
